THE ROLE:

In this role you will work with validation engineers, designers, architects and product engineers in the next generation of AMD’s flagship server CPU products. As a server CPU core system debug engineer you will work to get CPU core issues resolved in time and develop tools, infrastructure, processes and flows to root cause logical bugs in CPUs.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Debug and root cause determination of improper or inconsistent operation of CPU cores in Server systems.
  • Develop tools, infrastructure, processes and flows to root cause logical bugs in CPUs.
  • Improve CPU core debug capabilities and methodologies over time by identifying common challenges or impediments to efficient debug and working with partner organizations to drive innovation in tools and methods.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years or more of experience debugging x86-64 Post-silicon issues.
  • Hands one experience in debugging electrical effects and silicon defects.
  • Good understanding of x86-64 core-microarchitecture.
  • Proficient coder/debugger at x86-64 assembly level.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Perl, Python, Shell).
  • System Verilog and emulation knowledge is desired.
  • Knowledge of Linux Internals, Kernel mode driver programming, Operating Systems & Applications is desired.

 

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related major
  • with 5+ years of applicable experience.
