Job Description

About us

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do – and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW – you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a 6–9-month opportunity for a Workforce Analyst to join our Resource Management team, within Infrastructure and Place on a fixed term basis until 31st October 2022, with a possibility of extension. The Resource Management function was established to provide a holistic and coordinated service, supporting the end-to-end people resourcing of infrastructure projects, within the Infrastructure and Place division.

Reporting to the Manager Workforce Strategy, you will be focused on the maintenance and development of the Transport Resourcing system to support the effective resource forecasting, allocation, costing, and management of staff across a dynamic Infrastructure and Place division.

What you will be involved in:

  • Data cleaning, analyses, upload and system testing for the Transport Resourcing System

  • System administration, configuration, governance, and training

  • Respond to business as usual ad-hoc business reporting requests and data queries

  • Projects created to build reporting sophistication and automation, as well as enhance resource management data, processes, and systems

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven background in data management, reporting, and excel analyses

  • High attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate data through data blending and cleaning

  • Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience
