What you'll do

As a Visual Designer, you’ll be responsible for shaping the digital experience of our customers every day. While keeping customers at the heart of all decisions, you'll work to evolve the visual language of our experiences forward.

While collaborating closely with UX designers, researchers, product owners and stakeholders from key business areas, you'll be pushing the visual direction of our products forward, as well as producing pixel-perfect designs ready for delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Using and evolving a mature design system, ensuring consistency and quality for customers
• Sharing the design decision making process with internal stakeholders
• Working with Agile project teams and key stakeholders, in sprints, retrospectives and reviews, to develop user centred solutions within project timeframes
• Collaborating with project stakeholders to help understand and define customer value

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for a someone with a background in visual design, with a portfolio that demonstrates both creative thinking and the impactful delivery of effective and pleasing visual design solutions. Along with design craft knowledge, you’ll have an eye for visual interaction details, coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to deliver against tight deadlines.

It's crucial that you can demonstrate a human centred design approach and how you've used design thinking to co-create with teams to directly impact customer experiences. Ideally, you'll also have expertise in designing for both responsive web and mobile platforms such as Android or iOS and you must be fully proficient in using key tools such as Sketch, Abstract and Adobe Suite as well as prototyping tools such as Proto-pi, InVision, or Figma.

You’ll also need:

• Experience of delivering interface designs for applications, in high performance environments
• An understanding of the importance of adhering to brand standards and being guided by experience principles
• An awareness of accessibility and usability, with the ability to work within regulatory boundaries, compliance and regulation
• The ability to translate customer insights into designed experiences, then telling a compelling story around it
• A good understanding of responsive and adaptive design
• The ability to working effectively as part of a team, enabling an open collaborative environment
• Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate, lead and actively participate in design workshops
