Role Purpose


As a UX Designer, you are an integral part of product development. You love solving problems, are willing to embrace the unknown and able to work within distributed and cross-functional teams. You are part of a dedicated team committed to producing world-class digital products and services. You share our passion for user centric design and drive to experiment and innovate.

You will be part of one or multiple product development squads, responsible for building engaging products. You have experience working within agile teams and driving forward product goals and metrics. You are process-driven and continuously search for design improvements within a User-Centred Design framework; using customer insights and user testing to iterate and improve on designs whilst also collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to implement a best-in-class user experience.

This position is within the Insurance, Payments and Incubation area. This product area in Vodafone enables cutting-edge experiences for our customers by executing strategic external partnerships and developing customer-facing products launched across Vodafone Operating Companies (Countries). The products span areas of Digital Discovery and Distribution, Charging and Offer Provisioning, and Insurance across all Vodafone consumer offerings – Mobile, Broadband/fixed and TV.


Key accountabilities 

•    Be process-driven, delivering UX design within a User-Centred Design framework
•    Take ownership of user research initiatives to inform and validate design direction; engaging in user research, usability testing and drawing on analytics insights to meet user needs
•    Work with rest of design team to contribute to UX copy-writing output
•    Collaborate with UI Designers, Product Owners, Developers, and Agile squad members to work towards product goals
•    Be the user and design expert in product squads, delivering high quality product design, championing Vodafone Brand guidelines and follow design principles
•    Create comprehensive UX concepts covering personas, storyboards, customer journey maps, user flows, wireframes and rapid prototypes
•    Ensure consistent user experiences across Vodafone products by working with peers in other squads

Core Competencies

•    At least five years’ experience in app or web products UX design and at least one year experience in a technology product or service development environment, working within agile teams
•    Able to work effectively in a cross-functional agile team in a fast-moving environment   Must be able to balance priorities, respond positively to change and work with geographically distributed team members
•    Familiar delivering UX design on mobile phone apps (Android and iOS) and web-based services
•    Must have a user-centric approach to design, incorporating insights from research and product analytics into the design

Key performance indicators:

•    Impact to product metrics as part of a squad
•    Improvement in customer experience as measured by customer feedback and product analytics
•    Quality and timely delivery of UX work
