About the team:
The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering a once-in-a generation multi-billion dollar program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The Technical Services Branch provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network, and is the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice.
The opportunity:
Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have a permanent opportunity (Macquarie Park – Flexible) for a Tunnel MVAC Engineer to be part the Technical Service’s team.
Do you want to a part of building NSW transport infrastructure and make your mark on flagship multi-modal transport projects such as Greater Western Highway Upgrade, M6 Stages 1 & 2, Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link.
The role assists with the management of technical risk in infrastructure projects to enable the multi-modal development, delivery, operations, and management of tunnels safely, to optimum-quality, on time and on budget, with minimum impact to the community and the environment. You will provide input into design for technical advice, documentation review, and technical assurance.
What you will be involved in:
Manage technical and legislative risk on primarily Sydney metropolitan TfNSW projects by working to preserve state survey control and cadastral infrastructure aligned to legislation and TfNSW processes.
Act as a technical leader and mentor of best practice in survey infrastructure preservation capability by building and maintaining constructive and collaborative key stakeholder relationships across TfNSW, Government agencies and private industry.
Manage the technical and legislative risk on TfNSW projects related to the preservation of the state survey control and cadastral infrastructure, as per the requirements of relevant legislation and TfNSW processes, through process improvement, provision of technical advice and services, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

About you:
We are looking for a Tunnel MVAC Engineer that can take TfNSW into the new era of engineering.
Ideally you will have a background in the road or rail tunnels and be well versed in mechanical engineering. However, experience applying mechanical engineering in the design of building services for safety critical systems will also be highly regarded.
Key activities you will support include:
Mechanical engineering consultancy and support to the program/project teams developing and delivering tunnel infrastructure
Contributing to all phases of development of transport tunnel in the early phases of projects, from inception through to operations
Undertaking design reviews of mechanical systems for tunnels and scoping of project requirements.
Contributing to the development of Standards relating to mechanical systems for transport tunnels.
Essential requirements
Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related technical discipline.
Salary and Benefits
