PwC is seeking a driven consulting professional to join as an Industry Director based in Calgary. As a member of the local Industry team, you’ll serve as a catalyst to generate pipeline and sell services from our various consulting practices in our managed accounts and our largest clients. You’ll be involved in the delivery of services in areas where you bring industry relevance and subject matter expertise. This exciting new opportunity will allow you to showcase your strong sales expertise while being a key player in growing this new area of our Consulting practice in the Calgary region.

What you’ll create and do

As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines

Build strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalize on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors

Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities

Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria

Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

Responsibility for management of engagement financials

Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

Work with the account team to uncover target accounts’ business issues

Identify, develop and win significant bids and pursuits to meet defined sales targets

Lead complex sales pursuits and bring together multidisciplinary practitioners into integrated solutions to deliver winning proposals to clients

Consult with account team and engagement partner on pricing strategy

Walk the halls of the target accounts in order to gather intelligence, strengthen relationships and surface potential opportunities

Focus on driving opportunities that build on our existing relationships, and allow us to leverage these relationships, and develop them into new partnerships.

Attend and organize key industry events in order to network with relevant stakeholders, gain industry insight, an understanding of client strategy/challenges and represent the firm in the marketplace

Lead or participate, as needed, to delivery engagements to build trusted relationships with key client executives and teams

Ensure cohesiveness across our engagements and various practices delivering work at our clients under your responsibility

What you’ll bring to this role ​

An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

Extensive experience in a series of progressive sales, business development and account management roles, within a professional services firm or large corporation

Proven success in the delivery of large business transformation, digital transformation and IT projects

Considerable experience with data analysis, performance management, and budgeting

Highly capable of understanding a client’s business by clearly defining relevance and key insights within the thought leadership pieces sent to client

Ability to effectively manage c-suite, global and regional leadership relationships

Established presence within the community

High degree of tact, diplomacy, confidence, resilience and patience

Exceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients

The ability to communicate effectively, consult with others, develop relationships quickly, both internally and externally, facilitate group discussions, make presentations

Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze and understand the impact of relevant options

Passionate and high energy to perform under short time constraints and meet deadlines
