This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an innovative new online learning service that Pearson has launched in the UK. Working in partnership with leading UK universities across the country, the Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS) teams provide services including marketing, student recruitment, course content development, training and ongoing student support. As an ambitious and expanding business unit, our team members must respond positively to breaking new ground and by willing to challenge conventional practice and to be challenged themselves.

Your opportunity

  • Training & Quality Assurance Specialist

  • Permanent and full-time (working 37.5 hours per week)

  • This role can be based in either: Central London, Harlow Essex or Manchester Salford Quays office

  • Salary up to £34k depending on experience

  • Reporting to: Training & Quality Assurance Manager

The Training & Quality Assurance Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the short course and B2B teams, two of the fastest-growing sub-sections of the Student Recruitment function with workers based across the UK and in overseas offices. The alignment of quality assurance with training and development aims to ensure that managers are equipped with the tools and insights to get the best out of their team members and for individuals to flourish in an environment that advocates a growth mindset and ongoing self-improvement.

Expectations of the role are highly varied and individual tasks and projects will be dependent on the needs of the Senior Recruitment Manager responsible for the short course team and the Senior Regional Development Manager for the B2B team:

  • Supporting the management team with the induction and on-boarding of new team members and monitoring their early progression.

  • Planning and delivering group and individual training sessions to develop contextual awareness, product knowledge and consultative sales skills.

  • Creating and updating sales training materials, technical user guides and other content for team training purposes.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback surveys and trends from performance data.

  • Monitoring the university news pages and staying up to date with research activity and wider industry trends relevant to the courses in our portfolio.

  • Representing the recruitment team as a subject matter expert (for required projects) such as technology implementations and quality assurance procedures.

  • Promoting the value of diversity and strategies to facilitate an inclusive team culture.

Our successful candidate

The following requirements are essential for the role:

  • Experience of working in a sales environment.

  • A strong understanding of the core principles of consultative sales.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.

  • Self-sufficient and adaptive in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment.

  • Good attention to detail and appreciation of the importance of accurate writing.

  • Approachable, enthusiastic and capable of building high-trust relationships.

  • Willing to work remotely and across different office locations in London and Essex.

The following experience would be an advantage:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or an equivalent level 6 qualification.

  • A track record of exceeding ambitious sales targets.

  • Experience of coaching and mentoring within a sales environment.

  • Experience and confidence in delivering face-to-face and virtual presentations.

  • Experience and understanding of B2B sales and pipeline management.

  • Experience using SalesForce CRM.
