Job Description

Purpose of role:

A key support role reporting through the Merchandising function but operating within the Buying and Merchandising team

Sales & Stock - Monitoring

Assist the Merchandiser/ Assistant Merchandiser in the delivery of the sales, stocks and contribution budgets

To set up and manage the line projections via re forecasting and on IP in line with department and company agreed deadlines

Assist the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser in recommending OTB and intake rescheduling to the Buyers

To identify current and future trading opportunities and advise Merchandiser/ Assistant Merchandiser

Identify and manage any trading risks and advise Merchandiser/ Assistant Merchandiser

An awareness of the Sales, Stocks, Intakes and Markdowns on the WSSI’s

Completing reprocessing/transfers

Analysis & Administration – Problem solving and maintaining accurate paper work

To be responsible for investigating and resolving any data inaccuracies

Produce analysis so that sales and stock figures can be accurately analysed on a weekly, periodical or adhoc basis- including strategy, sign off and store range presentations

To identify and report stock overages and shortages against the line projections and report them to the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser

To ensure current commitment records have been maintained accurately

To chase and progress deliveries and shipping documentation in conjunction with the Trainee Buyer and highlight problems to the relevant Buyer / Assistant Merchandiser

To be responsible for the input on ROME under the direction of the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser (groupings/markdown screens/price/style descriptions/ gradings/ allocation tables / PSR / blocking)

Produce reports so that sales and stock figures can be accurately analysed on a weekly, periodical or Assist the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser in the completion of all company submits

Organise air freight where requested by the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser

Range - Develop and manage range content

Awareness of the development of the range and option plans

Awareness of any store or style grading amendments

Completing planagrams with retail and under the direction of the Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser

People – Supporting team to achieve company standards

Ensure delivery of best practice under the guidance of the Merchandising Controller

Adhering to company policy under the direction of the Merchandising Controller

To maintain regular communication with peer group to ensure a consistent way of working

To assist in the training of new TM's in Merchandising principles and operating systems

To take responsibility for own development

Regular communication with relevant Buying Teams

Operating Standards – Consistently deliver against company expectations and policy

Be aware of the requirement for suppliers to comply with the Primark Code of Practice on the Procurement of Merchandise

Be aware of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

The ideal candidate:

Previous experience in a merchandising position is desirable but not essential.

Previous experience of working in a fast paced, retail environment.

Is comfortable using excel
