A unique opportunity has arisen within a well established manufacturing company in Sittingbourne for a permanent Trainee Sewing Machinist working in the upholstery department.

You must be familiar with using a sewing machine, hand sewing and be able to follow instructions, however, training will be provided.

Reporting directly to the Upholstery Manager, you will be working within a small friendly team manufacturing and assembling upholstered equipment according to their specification.

Your main duties will include cutting out components to be sewn using patterns, ensuring the correct fabric is selected and sewing the products by machine and hand, following the instructions provided. You will then assemble the completed components to make the finished product.

Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm.
