Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Traded Risk Business Analyst. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Act as a Senior Business Analyst in the EMEA Traded Risk Transformation team
  • Support implementation of Transformation agenda and deliver Transformation projects
  • Implement efficiency improvements of existing fragmented and manual systems
  • Addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with entity management and/or the appropriate department
  • Be cognizant of the need of a strong control environment and ensuring process improvements are being prioritized





To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk Methodologies and frameworks - this is essential to have in this role
  • Ability of liaising with Risk Managers in order to formalise and plan requirements – essential to have
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders cross-functions (Risk as well as Technology & Business Teams) – essential to have
  • Risk Change Management with proven Risk Projects experience – essential to have
  • Relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services or Risk Consultancy - essential to have
  • Good knowledge of Risk Systems and E2E / Front to Back Risk Implementation within Risk and Business Transformation functions/large programmes. – essential to have
  • Understanding of PMO / Portfolio Management would be highly desirable as will be required to support the EMEA BoW and roadmaps
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (PRA/ECB) and latest regulations (IBOR, FRTB, Stress Testing) would be highly beneficial;
  • Line/team management would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)


The base location for this role is London
