You’ll be working within a fast paced, constantly evolving team, that own the delivery and assurance of world class secure platforms that make a real difference to our Customers. From operating systems, build automation, deployment, monitoring, data storage, virtualisation and in-life management and audit, you’ll be delivering the platforms that many of our deliveries depend upon.

Additional:  

Security Clearance: The nature of our work means you will be expected to obtain and maintain a  DV clearance, so if you don’t currently have one, we will need to undertake pre security checks before starting the role with us.  

You'll have the following responsibilities

Provide the technical direction for the build and assurance of world class secure platforms, through the creation of high and low level designs.

Be hands on in the build and assurance of systems.  

Use automation technologies as a standard part of platform build.

Work directly with customers to understand and capture requirements/user stories, through to integration, acceptance and customer sign, ensuring delivered solutions align to customer expectations.

Lead delivery teams by providing delivery management to ensure on time and high quality delivery.

Provide technical coaching and mentoring to more junior team members and presenting information to senior stakeholders.  

You'll have the following skills & experience

Significant technical leadership and delivery experience

Strong configuration managed approach to code management and use within continuous integration workflows, utilising tools such as git or subversion

Hands on, proven and demonstrable experience of designing, building and maturing automation frameworks from scratch, including: Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) TDD/BDD and knowledge of the Unit, SAT and Integration phases of the test lifecycle.  

Automation experience with Jenkins / robot frameworks and or scripting languages e.g.  Python, Java script, PHP, Bash, PowerShell. 

In depth knowledge of software methodologies including Waterfall/V model, agile, lean, incremental.

Proven hands on experience of HP ALM and or the Atlassian suite (X-Ray, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail) specifically for Release Management, Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.  

Recent experience in testing large scale geographically diverse distributed networks type projects  

Proficient in RedHat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 5/6/7.x (or equivalent) (Ideally with certification)

Ability to translate complex issues to the relevant senior audience, both verbally and written.
