The opportunity

We have a fixed term full time opportunity (up to June 2024) for a Test Analyst G 7 to join the Customer Strategy & Technology division in the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) branch in Strawberry Hills office. (Flexible work options)

SCATS enables cities around the world include Sydney optimise their transport networks in real-time, managing congesting and keeping over 1 billion people safe every day worldwide.

You will join one of 17 testers on several agile teams and you will be reporting to Senior Test Manager. Each of the agile teams collaborates with each other, to build and deploy real time traffic control software. Our customers are both local and international, the applications are interesting and unique.

About you

We are looking for someone with manual experience in the testing of real time applications.

To be successful for this role, you should have the below skills and experience,

• Tertiary qualification in computer science/engineering, information technology, traffic/civil engineering, mechatronics or electronics, telecommunications, or related disciplines.
• Experience in SCATS traffic management systems
• Experience in testing Traffic Signal Priority applications
• Exposure to test management and issue reporting systems, eg. Quality Centre, JIRA
• Certificate in software testing; e.g. ISQTB.

Essential Technical requirements,

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in manual software testing.
• Hands-on experience in Testing Realtime Traffic Control Applications.
• Experience in writing test plans and test reports.
• Experience in using Test management tools like HP ALM/SpiraTeam
• Exposure to database systems in order to write SQL queries,
• Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software suite.
• Excellent communication skills.
