Responsibilities
- Handle all payroll information questions and requests
- Review source documents with necessary verification
- Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
- Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
- Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures
- Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
- Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
- Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Excel Formulas experience desired
- Deep understanding of bi-Monthly Payroll
- Command of benefits payroll
- Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
- General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
- Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll
- Experience using accounting software
- Understanding of internal controls
- Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional
- Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
