Job Description

The Technology Project Manager  is responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of Digital & eCommerce CoE projects with a focus on consolidating Transport Mangamnt Sysntems (TMS) for Toll’s clients and internal stakeholders. Projects vary from bringing to life Toll’s world class systems, entering new markets and migrating off legacy mainframes, portals and transitioning them to cutting edge AWS cloud infrastructure and more customer friendly applications

You will be an AWS cloud native, with a process mindset capable of navigating your way through roadblocks as they inevitably arise. This position is responsible for managing the effective delivery of Digital and eCommerce solutions in accordance with agreed scope, schedule and budget.  You will be responsible for managing the expectations of sponsors and stakeholders, managing project risks and developing contingency plans.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage the production of the required deliverables according to defined scope
  • Direct and motivate the project team
  • Agree any delegation and use of Project Assurance roles required by the Steering Committee
  • Produce the Project Initiation Documentation (Project Plan, Business Case and other elements)
  • Prepare Project, Stage and, if necessary, Exception Plans in conjunction with Team Managers and appointed Project Assurance roles, and agree them with the Steering Committee
  • Accountable to the Project Delivery Manager for the delivery of an agreed portfolio of projects meeting Digital & eCommerce CoE Governance, Policies, Principles and commercial standards and PMO standards
  • Monitor and control budget, schedule, scope and quality across all projects in their portfolio
  • Maintain an accurate record of all financial expenditure (budgets versus actual versus forecasted) across all projects in their portfolio
  • Invoice tracking and management, ensuring all invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner and before project closure
  • Develop estimates for each project in their portfolio, ensuring estimates are reviewed and approved by the responsible authorities
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in managing ICT projects within the Transport and Logistics industry sector - Essential 
  • Advanced level understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Advanced level understanding of MS project scheduling, resourcing and budgeting
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in applying standard project management methodologies and SDLC
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in application development and systems integration projects
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the technical needs of non-technical internal and external customers
  • Ability to conceptualise, launch and deliver IT projects on time, within budget and to customer requirements
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts into business terms
