About IT at TfNSW

 

TfNSW’s IT group provides the tools, information and services that enable 30,000 employees to deliver a smart and efficient transport network. We bring the future to our people by delivering innovative solutions and minimising business disruptions, building an engaged and connected workforce through tech-enablement. This is an exciting time to join the team, with a committed annual investment of $700m for progressive technology projects including bots, apps, AI solutions, autonomous 3D mapping drones, cybersecurity, and the underlying IT platforms to support our customers and Transport staff.

Corporate Services provide strategies, solutions and services that make our clients’ working lives easier, and their projects more efficient and effective.  

 

About the team

Technology Enablement is part of the IT for Transport group within Corporate Services and ensures we can confidently deliver essential services to our growing community. We:

 

Champion and pioneer workplace diversity and flexibility, with hybrid working the norm and over 50% of leadership positions held by women,

Manage the investment, delivery, running, and benefits realisation for our significant IT business

Transform how we attract, grow, and retain our talent across IT for Transport

Manage $750m of IT Commercial partnerships, with oversight of the IT project portfolio and a focus on uplifting project and program delivery capability

The opportunity 

The Technology Investment Analyst role will support “running IT as a business” by ensuring that we are investing in the right things, delivering on the committed benefits, and assisting with the forward planning of our financials across OPEX and CAPEX.

 

The role will:

Support the Annual Asset and Funding plans, Benefits Realisation Management frameworks and processes and undertake Business Case reviews

Provide strategic advice and support on funding strategies, risks and opportunities

Manage the monthly CAPEX forecast submission process on behalf of IT for Transport

Partner with Finance, EPMO, IT Portfolios and other key stakeholders across Transport on all things financial with a business and commercial focus acting as the “executive advisory” function for the IT leadership team

 

 

About you  

 

You have a good understanding of CAPEX and OPEX funding planning processes

You bring experience in portfolio management in other large and complex organisations

You enjoy working with diverse stakeholder groups to develop solutions that improve outcomes for everyone

You are familiar with Benefits Realisation Management

You can effectively present complex information in a simple form for executive audiences and other stakeholders

You like rolling your sleeves up and documenting processes and procedures to reduce ambiguity

Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this position is Grade 8 $120,423 - $134,872 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
