About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join NZBS in a newly created role and team within Technical Services reporting into the Technical Services Facilities and Equipment Manager. We are recruiting into 2 positions in either Auckland or Christchurch. You will contribute to strategic planning for facilities and equipment across the national NZBS Technical Services laboratories. You will also be a business partner to the operational teams in the planning, procurement and support of equipment and you will also oversee and actively support the national technical systems such as HVAC, environmental monitoring systems and refrigeration plant.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience (minimum of 5 years) managing and operating technical facilities/ equipment within a highly technical and regulated laboratory environment. You have a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally with demonstrated ability and experience in planning and supporting technical facilities equipment throughout their lifecycle. Experience building and supporting advanced facilities e.g. cleanrooms, cryogenic storage facilities would be advantageous.
You will have highly developed and effective organisational and interpersonal skills with a high level of critical thinking and the ability to trouble-shoot and analyse complex situations in a technical, regulated environment. You will have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously under pressure and to operate as part of a team.
Previous experience working in a NZBS, or in a similar technical role, with hands-on experience in facilities operation, equipment management and maintenance is essential.
