The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to be a part of our team in the Intelligent Systems within Customer Strategy and Technology at Transport for NSW.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide analysis, technical expertise and advice to support the transition of business services to new or updated technology solutions. The role ensures that high-level analysis and advice is provided for correct solution design and implementation. You would be responsible for conducting research and analysis, evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements and assisting in the documentation of technical specifications and enduring customer relationships to support their team and their organisation to succeed.

This unique role will challenge you into thinking on your feet, making quick but informed decisions. You would be required to collaborate closely with your colleagues in the Technology and Innovation team, Integrated project teams and wider CST staff to enable practical, workable solutions ensuring timely delivery of projects.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers
• Lead the analysis of business requirements and identify opportunities, risks or issues.
• Conduct investigative work to identify appropriate and practical solutions, meeting the needs of the business and aligning to industry standards, and ensuring that the team can deliver outcomes identified in the business plan.
• Ensure technical specifications communicate user requirements in technical terms for submission to development teams.
• Interpret and translate analysis results into quality technical specifications that are insightful, clear and succinct.
• Develop a deep understanding of system functionality and design and conduct research and analyse options relating to business cases and deliverables to guide optimal decision-making.
• Monitor, track and report on the status of key deliverables to ensure outcomes and goals are met.

About You
• Working knowledge of business analysis processes to identify opportunities and risk management in infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to present and explain complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated experience in gathering and understanding technical requirements from an infrastructure, road network, rail network, telecommunications or any relevant infrastructure focussed heavy industry.
• Experience in developing technical and business requirements for business solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• Ability to influence and quickly build relationships.

Remuneration Package – Transport Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation, plus annual leave loading
