CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions, part of Global Workplace Solutions, is a leading global provider of Scientific Support Services. Across EMEA we employ > 250 highly skilled technical staff, responsible for maximising the scientific throughput of our client’s instrumentation, covering everything from basic lab equipment up to bespoke automation platforms. We are recruiting a Technical Author responsible for authoring & approving technical documentation used by ILS engineers across the business globally. The overriding purpose of this role is to ensure best in class service standards are maintained & accessible consistently to all ILS accounts. This role will work across all accounts within the CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions group network.

Key Responsibilities
Training Package Reviews
Author Technical Training Package content by collaborating with the relevant Subject Matter Experts.
Set the formatting standards for all documentation associated to the ILS Technical Training Programme
Implement a version control regime that governs Training Packages which are live & accessible for use.
Implement a Content Auditing process which pulls in Subject Matter Experts to ensure the information contained within is current and relevant.
Mixed-Reality Tools
Author Mixed-Reality content by collaborating with the relevant Subject Matter Experts.
Set the formatting standards for all Mixed-Reality guides & tools which are deployed across ILS.
Work in close collaboration with the Extended Reality Solutions (XRS) group to ensure alignment with CBRE policies & procedures is maintained.
Input into discussions with equipment manufacturers around the design & capabilities of co-developed Mixed-Reality Tools. Implement a version control regime that governs Mixed-Reality Tools which are live & accessible for use.
Implement a Content Auditing process which pulls in Subject Matter Experts to ensure the information contained within is current and relevant.
SOP & Work Instructions
Author SOP & Work Instruction content by collaborating with the relevant Subject Matter Experts.
Set the formatting standards for all SOP & Work Instructions which are deployed across ILS.
Implement a version control regime that governs SOP & Work Instructions which are live & accessible for use.
Implement a Content Auditing process which pulls in Subject Matter Experts to ensure the information contained within is current and relevant.
ILS Technical Mentorship Programme
Provide guidance to all participants of the ILS Technical Mentorship Programme relating to the field of documentation.
Hold regular workshops for those looking to develop their skills in the field of training package, SOP, Work Instruction & Mixed-Reality Guide development.
Requirements
HNC/HND in relevant engineering or scientific discipline
Experience of working in a fast paced, operational environment
5+ years Technical Writing Experience
Very strong analytical skills with proven ability to break down and solve complex problems in a logical and structured approach
Top-Tier Experience in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
Strong relationship management and excellent communication skills/influencing skills
Ability to work to own initiative but team orientated and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software packages (Solidworks, Autocad, etc.)
Knowledge of Quality Control practices & working in a regulated environment.
