***The base salary banding for this role is £57,000 - £83,000 in London and £50,000 - £72,000 outside of London, plus the benefits listed below.***

Our Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) is looking for a Tech Optimisation (TO) Security Engineer. Working within the CCoE Security team, you’ll own the engineering of Tech Optimisation security capabilities. The main accountability of the TO Security Engineer is to ensure that the correct security designs and controls are in place, focusing on keeping Tech Optimisation services safe and secure while simultaneously supporting the Tech Optimisation programme to meet its deadlines and deliver business outcomes. You’ll be responsible for security requirements, designs, risks and defining controls to mitigate these risks and guiding other areas of the Tech Optimisation programme to embed security into their deliverables in the best manner for the Bank.



What you'd be doing
 

  • Working with architects and engineers to collaboratively define the mid and low level security requirements into a collection of design and engineering activities to ensure that the programme is delivering against agreed security standards and principles
  • Proactively identifying security risks not exclusively as part of the design/engineering process
  • Owning the end-to-end security view for specific platform components, shared services or application integration items
  • Performing threat modelling against architectures, engineered solutions, and as-is platforms
  • Ensuring that security activities are aligned with the wider TO security strategy
  • Working in a multi-disciplined autonomous team delivering security value on behalf the team
  • Providing security leadership, guidance and consultation to diverse teams built from a mixture of LBG employee’s, contractors and 3rd party consultants
  • Representing our security engineering capability at wider group-wide engineer guilds
  • Responsibility for delivery against the OKRs and / or revision of the OKRs based on new data and findings
  • Prioritising ruthlessly, whilst balancing the needs of stakeholders and risk
  • Working with stakeholders to overlay new requirements with the evolving threat landscape and work with vendors to ensure product development keeps pace with our needs
  • ….and ultimately being responsible for contributing to the success of the programme ensuring that our applications & services are appropriately secured



About you
 

  • You’ll live and breathe the practise of security by design, with a proactive forward looking approach to ensure that security is integrated in all aspects of our deliveries
  • You’ll takes ownership of security elements from end-to-end to drive the best secure outcomes
  • You’ll work with architects and engineers to prioritise the right thing for the Bank taking into account the balance of all outcomes not only the Security outcomes
  • You’ll focus on collaboration, putting aside ego in order to facilitate the success of others
  • You’ll influence without authority, trusting and empowering the Team with responsibility
  • You’ll be data driven and bring evidence-based decision-making to explain 'why’
  • You’ll be comfortable challenging stakeholders - saying “No,” but also explaining why in terms they understand
  • You’ll be intellectually curious and loves learning new skills and capabilities
  • You’ll role model the Learning culture we want to create



What’s needed to be considered for this role?
 

  • 2-5 years practical experience of cloud security (GCP and/or Azure)
  • Hands-on experience configuring security elements/controls within public cloud environments, e.g. IAM, Firewalls, Logging/Alerting, SIEM
  • Experience working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver change
  • Exposure to strategic and large transformation / migration programmes
  • Threat modelling experience both platform and application level
  • Ability to detect and raise appropriate security, technical and business risks
  • Familiarity with modern collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Teams etc.
  • Understanding the security challenges faced when executing complex integration between traditional on-prem IT and public cloud
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, deep ownership with great communication to peers and other key stakeholders to provide a great end-to-end security engineering service
