Job Description

Bay6 are seeking a dynamic, passionate, committed and highly skilled person to join our amazing team as our new Team  Manager to support the development and progression of the service.Bay6 provides high quality support to young people in a safe and friendly environment, could this be you?  

Barnardo's provides supported accommodation to young people aged 16-24 across seven sites in Lancashire. The service aims to provide young people with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for independent living. The young people who live in our accommodation are from a range of backgrounds and are often either in the process of Leaving Care or have experienced homelessness. The services are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week by a dedicated team. Young people can live within our accommodation for up to 2 years so that they can move on successfully to their own accommodation in a planned and coordinated way.    

This role is based in Barnardo's Lancashire locality, initially in Leyland at the Bay6 Project, we provide accommodation and support for 17 young people on a 24/7 basis across 3 buildings. 

Team Manager role:

  • Provide management, support, and development opportunities to the staff team at Bay6
  • Ensure the support needs of the  young people are understood and fully met.
  • Be part of the weekly Locality On Call rota

  • Be committed to working as part of the Bay6 and Barnardo's team to achieve excellence within the service. 
  • Be confident to oversee support planning for the  young people and make sure that strategies and approaches agreed with other key agencies are embedded and implemented on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be a champion of and advocate for the voice of the young person, building child-centred and trauma-informed practice into the heart of everything we do.  You will be committed to Bay6's vision and to Barnardo's basis and values.
  • Have the ability to work flexibly and independently

To be successful in this role you will need to have a range of skills and abilities, and most importantly you will need to enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with young people. The successful candidate will have a planned induction and will participate in range of training.
