The role

We are One Housing and we create places for people to call home and support them to live well. With a breadth of services and expertise to help people whatever their housing, care, or support needs.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Team Manager.

We are looking for a motivated, flexible and committed individual to lead an exceptional 8-bed, 24 hour complex needs young parents’ scheme in Camden. You will manage the implementation and monitoring of support plans, risk assessments, customer reviews and parenting assessments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervise a mixed staff team of 14 and ensure the delivery of a high-quality service to complex needs young parent’s in Camden.
• Provide support and advice to staff with their day to day work and manage performance issues when and if they arise. A level of flexibility is required as Artemis House is a High Risk Assessment Service, therefore hours may exceed that of 9am – 5pm, additional availability at evenings or weekends on occasion when dealing with incidents or service delivery
• Ensure regular team meetings are held and staff are informed about the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Hold day to day responsibility for rota cover and staff deployment.
• Ensure that all staff receive appropriate induction, training and development opportunities.
• Participate in the training of staff as required.
• Performance management including setting targets, monitoring and taking action to address any performance issues.
• Ensure staff are empowered to take responsibility and to work in a way that is imaginative and responsive to the needs of customers.
• Facilitate and encourage effective customer participation, consultation and feedback within the service.
• Ensure the implementation of the support database and that appropriate records are kept.
• Ensure that staff adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain positive links with local statutory and independent sector services.
• Participate in the management on call rota.
• Carry out regular audits of service provision including; health and safety.
• Liaise effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure referrals and assessment issues are dealt with in a timely fashion, and service utilisation is maximised.
• Ensure contract compliance, monitoring and service satisfaction
• Ability to promote customer involvement, choice and diversity
• Be proficient on electronic recording systems (CURA is the in house system).
• Actively promote the service to internal and external stakeholders.

What you will need to succeed

We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is positive and friendly.

The successful candidate will:

• Have relevant experience of working with young people and parents/families.
• Be adept at report writing for child focused meetings and professionals’ meetings
• Have experience in liaising with the professional network, including close liaison with Social Services, Youth Offending Team (YOT), family courts, and safeguarding teams.
• Have a good understanding of parenting assessments as well as early years foundation.
• Have experience and understanding of child development
• Have a social work qualification, NVQ Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent
• Have previous management experience in a social care setting
• Good level of IT skills and literacy
• Knowledge of the Housing Sector
• Experience of producing performance indicators that measure business activities for senior executives
• Knowledge and understanding of up to date legislation and government frameworks relevant to the customer group.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of issues affecting individuals relevant to the customer group
• Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults and children
• Knowledge of resettlement and housing issues for people with support needs including welfare benefits
• Knowledge of health and safety issues in relation to the customer group
• Experience of working within an assessment and support planning process relevant to the customer group
• Experience of fostering and maintaining relations internally and externally
