BBC Resourcing & Talent acts as a specialist team within our wider BBC HR function. We have a current opportunity for a Talent Manager to provide specialist recruitment support to BBC Children’s and Education.

The Children's and Education Talent Team work collaboratively with the BBC Children's and Education department. The Talent Team are responsible for attracting and recruiting fantastic and diverse talent into the BBC and ensuring an excellent candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. We are committed to sourcing the best industry talent to create our award-winning content for our young and diverse audience.

Role Responsibility

You will work closely with your colleagues in the Talent Team, our HR colleagues, and the Children’s and Education business unit to deliver an exemplary recruitment service to BBC Children’s and Education across teams such as Bitesize, Blue Peter, Newsround, CBBC and CBeebies games and websites, and productions like Saturday Mash Up, Jo Jo & Gran Gran, and Bedtime Stories.

As Talent Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for day to day recruitment activity for their allocated departments, and create talent pools relevant to the production genre
  • Create excellent relationships with stakeholders, and develop an in depth knowledge of production requirements, team structures and future talent needs
  • Ensure smooth movement of staff between productions and projects in line with Recruitment and Attachment policies
  • Contribute to the identification of internal and external talent and build this understanding into collaborative and proactive workforce planning with managers
  • Consult with hiring managers to identify appropriate assessment methods for each role
  • Support the delivery of internal and external talent events
  • Identify and utilise networks and social media to attract quality and diverse talent

The Ideal Candidate

With experience of working within a recruitment environment, you will have a proven track record of recruiting and attracting talent and excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

You will have experience of working in fast paced recruitment environment where the need to work collaboratively with hiring managers has been vital. It will be really beneficial in this role if you are organised and have a track record of utilising data and systems such as SAP or an ATS to support the delivery of your work. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to attract fantastic and diverse candidates and work closely with managers to identify potential. You will ideally have worked in an in house recruitment team and have an appreciation of key employment law legislation.

As a Resourcing & Talent point of contact to the business, you will need to be a flexible and resilient communicator at all levels.

Package Description

Band: C
Contract type: 3-6 Months FTC
Location: Salford or various BBC Studio locations

Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (Home plus two/three days per week in the office)
