There’s your ‘normal’ reactive recruitment – and there’s Talent Acquisition at BBC Studios. We see Talent Acquisition as a business enabler. A function that can be trusted, consulted and called upon to advise on anything to do with bringing great talent into the business. Great talent that can help reshape and reimagine how we think about, create and produce amazing content for our hugely diverse audiences across the world and how we build a world-class support function to enable all the glamourous stuff to happen.

This requires our TA teams to get involved at every stage of the process. From taking insightful briefs, to writing compelling and inspirational adverts, selecting and posting to new and disruptive channels and conversing directly with candidates to understand their aspirations, hopes, dreams and ambitions.  It includes the art of ‘positioning’ an opportunity to a new community of talent that has never considered the BBC as a place for them and of building assets and content to support these conversations.

But we don’t expect you to be able to do ALL of that immediately – we just need you to WANT to do it and be excited by the strategy driving a more comprehensive and joined up approach. We shall commit to  investing in you and train you to be the all singing, all dancing version of the TA expert we need you to become and we’ll put you through recognised training so you can boast to your friends and family and celebrate your achievements on LinkedIn.

Where:

You tell us: With locations in Cardiff, Bristol, London, Salford and Glasgow we can accommodate your personal situation. Tell us what works best for you, and so long as you can get into the office 2 or 3 times a week – on average – then that works fine. We are keen on a hybrid approach as it enables you to absorb best practice, learn from your peers, contribute to ad hoc discussions and debates and benefit from the positive working environment and social aspect of a welcoming and fun team . We don’t want you to miss out on that essential part of working life – the ‘social’.

What:

In addition to the fully immersive Talent Acquisition approach outline above – there are some other key areas of involvement:

  • You’ll support the hiring of permanent and fixed-term contract positions across a range of disciplines and genres – you’ll get to learn how each one operates and differs. Great training for future specialisation.
  • You’ll get to talk directly with your hiring managers – sharing your rapidly growing expertise and knowledge of best-practice talent acquisition
  • You’ll learn to write beautifully composed and creatively inspired job adverts that stand out in a sea of mediocrity. We don’t just post job descriptions, we story-tell and engage.
  • You’ll take responsibility for assessing candidate suitability through application review, conversation and assessments – al designed to present the very best candidate options to your hiring manager. You’ll add great value.
  • You’ll be a real sticker for detail and order – ensuring candidate records are up to date and candidate communications are useful, timely and accurate.
  • You’ll help steer and implement our channel-selection strategy – including the suggestion of new channels, communities and outreach initiatives. We seek different, disruptive thinkers that inhabit curious, unexpected places. Your job is to find them and engage.

What do we need

  • If you have had recruitment experience we’ll certainly be interested to hear how you operate and what you view as best practice.
  • But we are more interested in your curiosity, ideation and confidence to think differently when it comes to candidate attraction and assessment.
  • We’ll look out for HOW you communicate, verbally, through the words you write and the formats you use to engage with different audiences. DO you have ideas for new channels and new mediums? We’d love to hear them.
  • We’d like you to be good at spotting opportunities to improve processes and be hot on detail.
  • And we absolutely need you to be flexible, collaborative and open and willing to learn and grow quickly and impressively.
