We have an open role for Systems Engineering Designer - Software (Electrical Engineering)
The main responsibilities include the development of test sequences in Test Stand, Lab View, C/C++/C#, VB, .NET, and/or Python languages that will run on Windows platforms or on embedded controllers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and participate in software test system development
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure effective overall system design
- Provide technical leadership on projects involving multiple engineers
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support the sales process by providing technical expertise in customer proposals
- Analyze existing test solutions (electrical/software) and understand the design for maintenance or updating/upgrading test software
- Meet project schedule timelines and budgeted hours
- Mentor other Software Test Development Integrators
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience in a test engineering environment
- Two+ years of work experience using relevant languages
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A solid understanding of electronic circuit theory and knowledge of test and measurement equipment and techniques
- Application software development skills in Microsoft Visual Studio and/or National Instruments development tools
- Solid analytical skills; able to resolve technical problems with innovative solutions
- Proven ability to manage working on multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Requires a strong initiative, proactive nature and a sense of urgency
- Ability to travel 0% - 10% to client locations for meetings and/or system installations
- Maintains confidentiality and security of intellectual property (Controlled Goods)
Physical Requirements (these physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation):
- Majority of time is spent in usual office working conditions
- Ability to sit for extended lengths of time is required; bend, reach, stoop and twist as required
- Heavy use of an office computer for completing work
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; risk of electrical shock
- Regular exposure to manufacturing areas
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
