Your day to day role will vary but the overriding responsibility will be to ensure the plant is operated, tested and maintained within its safety case envelope. This will include oversight, and acting as the customer for new plant systems and replacement plant projects and in some cases where the plant is modified acting as the Responsible Engineer for plant modifications.

As a Systems Engineer you will be self-motivated, resilient and have a positive attitude towards your work. You must be able to work independently. Use your own initiative and act autonomously to drive C&I or Computing ownership and improvements within your plant areas.
As a minimum requirement, you will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent), and you will demonstrate high standards of Nuclear Professionalism and Safety.
Experience of Nuclear, conventional steam power plant operations, engineering or a technical and safety discipline would be advantageous but it isn’t essential. As with experience of PLC/DCS/HMI Systems or legacy computer systems, this would be advantageous but again training will be provided.
