Job Description

About the role

We are looking for System & Automation Engineer to join the team based in Canterbury and work at our sites across the south island. We have a number of exciting automation projects underway and are looking for someone to support these and future systems.

As a System & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all automation equipment and integration systems are performing well
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues with equipment and systems, and providing Root Cause Analysis where required
  • Modifying the system to suit changing business requirements, and also assisting with scoping and deployment of large projects
  • Managing and maintaining backups; and documentation in a useable manner
  • Developing project pricing for small and medium automation projects
  • Interpreting machine designs, P&ID and functional descriptions
  • Managing budgets on projects, license and ownership cost of systems

Qualifications

Who are you?

You are a self-starter looking for a new adventure. You have a positive attitude, enjoy working hard and are honest, reliable, and willing to learn.

For this role, you’ll need:

  • Engineering qualification is essential, training in electrical preferred
  • 5+ years experience in control system automation
  • Team leadership and management experience are preferred, but not essential
  • Preferred experience in Schneider PLC, Rockwell PLC & HMI, Siemens PLC & HMI, AVEVA InTouch & System Platform SCADA, Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA, Microsoft SQL
