Role outline
Main Activities
Reporting to Director of Finance you will:
- Act as the main point of contact within the Finance & Procurement team for system issues and liaise with the IS team and external suppliers as applicable to resolve, including:
- Maintenance, change management, day-to-day support of in-house finance systems;
- Manage end-user queries and triage incidents as necessary;
- Help the in-house teams to evaluate, design, plan, implement and test new requirements;
- Contribute to developing solutions to improve/automate financial processes;
- Troubleshooting and resolving a range of detailed systems issues;
- Ensure system permissions are in line with delegated authorities and approval limits and ensure the segregation of duties; and
- Work to eliminate all financial offline information.
- Work closely with the Finance & Procurement and IS teams to plan, manage and support system upgrades and implementations including:
- Supporting the development of business case proposals and project plans;
- Managing functional testing for development or upgrade activities;
- Documenting processes and procedures; and
- Providing specialist and organisation-wide training and support as identified.
- Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to review and design Finance & Procurement system workflows to ensure that systems remain efficient and meet operational needs whilst maintaining robust internal controls.
- Design and scope reports and dashboards within the existing Finance & Procurement systems to meet user needs and enhance stakeholder decision-making and planning.
- Ensure Finance systems documentation is maintained and up to date, including user guides for admin team
- Support the Finance & Procurement team to improve processes and utilisation of systems e.g. exploring opportunities for automation and providing technical support & training.
- Represent the Finance & Procurement team in key IS-related projects which affect Finance & Procurement systems.
- Work with the Director of Finance and his managers on the identification of a long-term purchase to pay solution and explore enhanced forecasting systems.
- Support organisational change programmes and efficiency reviews across the organisation.
