We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Sustainment Engineering Manager, to be an integral part of our UH-60M Black Hawk team.

About the role

As the Sustainment Engineering Manager, you will be a senior member of the LM/Sikorsky Australia UH-60M Capture Team. Initially you will be tasked with leading and managing the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations Part 21J compliant LM/Sikorsky Australia UH-60M Sustainment Engineering Team.

This position will transition over time to the in-Contract DASR Part 21J Sustainment Engineering Manager and Head of Design Engineering Organisation.

About you:

Together with your superior domain knowledge in Part 21J, DASA, DASR and Rotary Wing, you will be engaging and able to build on your already strong industry relationships. You will also ideally have a Bachelor of Engineering in an Aviation discipline and/or extensive relevant experience.

To be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Significant experience in Aviation Engineering
  • Prerequisite qualifications and experience to obtain a Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) Part 21J Head of Design Organisation (HDO) Nominated Post Holder (Form 4) position
  • Outstanding communication and Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Two years with DGTA / DASR or civil equivalent Form 4 approvals
  • Hold or be eligible to attain IEAUST Chartered Professional Engineer (CPENG) in relevant college(s), such as Systems Engineering, Leadership & Management

Your responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead the development of the Engineering Support elements of the LM/Sikorsky Sustainment Request for Tender Response
  • Develop and submit a compliant Part 21J Military Design Organisation Exposition (MDOE)
  • Lead and manage the engineering elements of the Schedule Risk Reduction Services Contract, including establishment of the DASR Part 21J compliant organisation within LM/Sikorsky Australia
  • Lead and manage the engineering elements of the Sustainment Contract Engineering Management Plan and Phase-In Plan
  • Contribute to the development of the Program Workforce Implementation Plan
  • Develop and implement Staff Induction and Training Plans
  • Establish the engineering management system
