Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking planning approval and financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2022. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support EDF’s objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.
As Supply Chain Lead, you’ll be responsible for the procurement, negotiation and subsequent commercial management of SZC’s main construction contracts, which are categorised by the relevant Programme: Equipment, Conventional Island, Nuclear Island, MEH, Main Civil Works and Enabling Works.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London. If you’re able to travel to the office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
You’ll own and manage the commercial relationship for the suppliers within your portfolio and be the primary point of contact for all supply chain/commercial matters. You’ll be working closely and pro-actively with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels, to determine the procurement and contracting strategies to meet the SZC project objectives.
With the support of your team, you’ll oversee the tactical delivery of all pre and post contract award activities, ensuring compliance and value for money at all times.
We’re looking for someone who will promote the SZC project, its values and behaviours and ensure that the SZC project requirements are met and successfully delivered against the overall Integrated Work Schedule milestones.
You’ll bring your proven ability of working at a senior level, within a complex major project/programme environment, in both procurement and post-procurement practices. You’ll also be able to demonstrate effective commercial management and leadership skills with a clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies in the UK environment, including contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
You’ll be used to the standard forms of contract (NEC and FIDIC) that are used within the power/construction industry and perhaps be a member of RICS, ICE, CICES, IOB or an equivalent professional body.
At EDF we’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives. We’re delighted to offer a range of benefits to support our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellbeing.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a market-leading company pension scheme, paid holidays and a range of flexible benefits, such as: a company incentive bonus plan, health cover, cycle to work scheme, discounts and employee pricing.
Please let us know if you’d like to discuss flexible working arrangements by highlighting this on your application.
