Intern:   VMware Ecosystem Certification and Performance Engineer

 

The Role:

Join a team of developers responsible for the testing, certification and benchmarking of software products aligned with AMD’s server platform roadmap. Collaborate with application engineers at leading software partners on correctness, performance characterization, tuning and optimization of software applications for server platforms. You will work with team members to develop new features and tune them for complex, distributed software applications across multiple industry verticals (for example, among others: databases, telecom, big-data, analytics, financial services, media, entertainment).

The Person:

A graduate student or undergraduate in at least the 3rd year of computer science or computer engineering studies; passionate about virtualization, servers, operating systems development, computer systems, and the emerging 21st century data center. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

You will join the AMD VMware Ecosystem Team working with engineers supporting development, tuning and optimizing VMware software for AMD EPYC based platforms.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Studies and coursework in operating systems fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and experience with at least one virtualization product such as Oracle VirtualBox, VMware Workstation, Parallels or VMware ESXi.
  • Ability to install and configure Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic network configuration skills.
  • Command line proficiency or Linux and/or Windows.
  • Experience reconfiguring server systems.
  • Basic Bash scripting skills or Python experience with an emphasis on automation.

 

Academic Qualifications:

  • M.S. or B.S. (3rd year or above) in computer science or computer engineering studies
