The Role:

Conduct studies and experiments to drive architectural enhancements to improve perf/watt of next generation Radeon processors

Key Responsibilities:

• Using state of the art methodologies, analyze various frames of multiple games/applications to optimize performance/power consumption
• Help in driving architectural studies to improve perf/watt for Radeon processors
• Help in creating and executing experiments on silicon or a simulation model to aid in architectural studies
• Enhance existing automation flows to collect power and performance data

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior understanding of GPU/CPU pipeline architecture; GPU is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of C, C++, and a scripting language; experience with Perl and Python is a plus
• Prior knowledge of OpenGL/OpenCL/DirectX is a plus
• Strong understanding of digital and analog electronics
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion

Education:

• BS/MS/PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or related
