About this role

To be Openreachs first point of contact for all LA’s, HA’s and RA’s. To provide operational guidance to Openreach and suppliers on issues resulting from the legislation. Also, to support delivery teams with LA related fluidity issues and on SW matters to ensure compliance with Streetworks related legislation. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Manage (own, engage, build and maintain) the Openreach relationship with Local and Regional Roads Authorities in England, Wales and Scotland, primarily but not limited to issues around New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA)

• Help resolve and avoid Openreach orientated issues with LA’s, whether that be network activities, performance or costs that may impact Openreach reputation

• Attend all appropriate LA meetings and to demonstrate positive preparation, participation, progressing actions and disseminating pertinent information in an effective and structured manner

• Own LA issues escalated to Openreach, primarily but not limited to NRSWA, managing the progress of actions and appropriately influencing others within Openreach to successful resolution

• Understand the needs of our customers and stakeholders. Drive for an exceptional customer experience

• Support any Openreach delivery team ‘request for support’ by laising with LA’s to ensure best solution for undertaking of works in the highway 

• Be accountable for the proactive drive and delivery of all team objectives, demonstrating real ownership

• Provide a professional one-stop advice centre for NRSWA related technical issues, supporting Openreach teams in both a structured consultative proactive program and in an ad-hoc way as required

• Assist the Streetworks Finance & Billing team with LA issues / queries, primarily related to NRSWA – to be the ‘on the ground’ SW representative

• Support business improvement and transformation activity within the Streetworks team

• Act as Openreach representative during any NRSWA legal prosecutions

• Collaborate with and support Supplier Management with supplier performance issues, quality of workmanship and safety related issues e.g. NRSWA non-compliance / Improvement Notices

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Advanced knowledge of Streetworks and NRSWA processes and legislation, ability to understand and drive compliance relating to English laws and legislation relevant to Streetworks

• Ability to maintain and drive performance with supplier and direct labour teams with all issues pertinent to NRSWA maintaining quality and safety

• Stakeholder/Vendor management skills, negotiation and challenging skills for internal and external relationships

• Computer literacy to a good standard and able to use MS Office Excel

• An enthusiasm for performance and drive for results as part of a successful team but also accountable by taking ownership of managing and driving own issues through to conclusion

• Please also evidence on your CV that you have a Full Clean Driving Licence
