Stores Assistant – About the role:

Our Stores Assistant will also ensure that our high-quality goods are handled with the required processes which need to be followed for our components

In addition to this, you will be responsible for:

• Receiving, storing, controlling, moving and dispatching stock
• Ensuring stock accuracy through daily cycle counting
• Ensuring material replenishment direct to the Point of Use with minimal disruption to the flow
• Receiving, storing, controlling, moving and dispatching stock
• Carrying out any transportation and associated work relating to department processes
• Reacting to the replenishment signals
• Ensuring that inventory levels are maintained in line with company targets

The skills and experience we would like the employee in this role to have are:

• Experience working in a Stores and / or Material handler role
• Experience in manufacturing / working with complex products.
• A forklift license.
• To be computer literate, with basic skills in Outlook, Word and Excel
• To possess experience in the use of an ERP system for inventory management
• To understand the need for safe manual handling principles

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience working in a pressured team environment
• Ability to understand and develop efficient systems and working practices
• Ability to operate cutting equipment
• A working knowledge of Lean principles, such as 5S, would be a distinct advantage
• Ideally to have experience in working with kanbans, DLF and VOMI
