About this role
We have an exceptional fixed term opportunity to be part of the BT Group Customer Billing – Credit Risk Team, supporting and protecting the growth of the Consumer and SME segment for all EE and BT portfolios including Mobile, Fixed line, Broadband and TV.
You will be working within the BT Group Credit Risk Acquisition & In Life team, and closely with the wider Credit Risk department. You will be supporting the Senior Manager, Consumer Acquisitions & In Life and the wider team in delivering an ongoing programme of initiatives aimed at improving the new customer acquisition, account maintenance strategies and customer order journey across BT and EE products.
You will design, refine and enhance the strategy to improve market share and manage the Fraud, Early & Involuntary Churn exposure across the product line to optimise risk reward balance.
Being an independent thinker, you will also enjoy interrogating data and building insights from the patterns being observed. You will also be a highly skilled scorecard builder with experience designing and developing models that cover an array of purposes will enjoy the challenge of working in this FCA-regulated environment.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Support the implementation of Acquisition Credit Risk & Fraud strategy and policies by working with other areas across the BT Group and external suppliers
Design and build the Acquisition and In Life Risk Strategy for the relevant FCA-regulated commercial products through statistical modelling and analysis, optimising performance to reduce fraud, early churn and bad debt.
Enhance and maintain Acquisition and In Life strategies through continuous re-training and refinement of in-house statistical models
Define and produce analytics and KPIs to monitor the efficacy of the Acquisition & In Life strategy models
Act as a subject matter expert in the field of Acquisition & In Life Credit Risk and Statistical Modelling and scorecard building for FCA-regulated products
Build FCA-compliant Acquisition & In Life scorecards & strategies
Create virtual teams across the wider business as and when required to resolve priority cross-functional issues
Establish and maintain key relationships across BT Group including Senior Management Team and external suppliers to support the Credit Risk function
Provide detailed analysis and insight of Acquisition & In Life risk performance to identify trends and opportunities to drive improvements in core KPIs
Quantify the impact of initiatives and monitor progress against agreed plan to deliver company level targets
Produce consistent insight and deliver cohesive and coherent message on Credit Risk issues on FCA-regulated products to present to Senior Stakeholders
Support the roll out of policies and processes within the Operation
To maintain personal and professional development in the Credit risk area
You'll have the following skills & experience
Proven track record of building a wide range of statistical models & scorecards to manage credit risk assessments at application and behavioural levels
Experienced, flexible and driven Specialist with a proven background in delivering and optimising risk strategies through statistical analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and an ability to robustly interrogate large volumes of data
Experience of working in a high-volume Consumer/Commercial Credit Risk environment, either in an Acquisition and/or In Life capacity
Experience of high-volume consumer Credit Risk Acquisition systems and/or In Life decision engines
Strong communications skills with evidence of influencing stakeholders and proposing robust strategy recommendations
Understanding of FCA requirements, processes, tenets and CONC5
Familiarity with external Income data sources, such as ONS
Highly proficient in SAS, Statistical Modelling software, MS Office applications
Degree level or equivalent experience in a financial, statistical or mathematical specialism
