The Azure Hyperscale Networking team is looking for highly motivated and talented engineers to design and build state-of-the-art services and infrastructure that provision and manage our cloud-scale physical network. This includes router hardware, router OS (including Microsoft’s own SONiC OS), router configuration, and world-wide distributed orchestration systems.

  
The Azure Hyperscale Networking team operates one of the biggest network infrastructures on the planet. The team manages the Network connecting servers, datacenters, and sites across the global-scale Microsoft Cloud. With the mission of reaching millisecond access times within our datacenter, and within 15ms to every human in planet, the team is constantly innovating on technologies to build the world’s most reliable, performant and secure network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for critical components of the Azure Network infrastructure. This will include owning components from design through to deployment and operations. This is a high visibility position in an area of large and expanding investment for Microsoft Azure, provides ongoing cross-company exposure, especially with the Azure Compute and Storage organizations, and offers a terrific opportunity for technical and career growth.  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience 
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other technical/engineering degree OR equivalent industry experience 
• Demonstrated solid design and development skills 
• Full stack development experience 
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of software engineers
• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals 

 Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience with data analysis 
• Some knowledge of networking fundamentals a plus 
• Experience with C# and/or Python
