Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to assist with maturing our CO+I Resilience Programs and tools. Our focus is on preparing our organization and datacenters to respond to unforeseen events and business interruptions as well as to respond to critical events around the world. This position supports an on-going development and management of the CO+I Resilience tools, plans, templates, and documentation using methods which are consistent with Microsoft’s internal policies, industry standards, and best practices. The goal of this program is to ensure a state of readiness that enables an appropriate response to any event that could compromise Microsoft’s global datacenters.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of managing and implementing global business continuity and emergency response programs, training teams in large enterprises, and measuring the effectiveness of programs through exercises and managing real events. You should have experience setting a strategy and successfully executing against the predefined milestones. You should have experience working with and influencing senior leaders. The successful candidate will be able to understand the value of our current state program, but also be able to envisage where we need to go to support an ever-changing company and risk environment. You should have experience being an ambassador for a program with numerous, diverse stakeholders. Knowing how to influence others without authority is a skill that is critical to the success of this role – both during day-to-day efforts as well as during incidents. You must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Resilience thought leadership
  • Create documentation and establish policies & standards
  • Support resilience tools, metrics, and reporting
  • Conducting Business Continuity and Emergency Response exercises
  • Provide Crisis Management support during the actual events
  • Assess and report on the readiness of Microsoft’s key 3rd party providers
  • Create an environment that fosters innovation and enables continuous improvement of the CO+I Resilience programs
  • Continuously align Resilience programs with the Company strategy
  • Drive improved consistency and maturity of the program across the globe focusing on a risk-based approach
  • Work with other CO+I stakeholders on identifying the risk exposures and addressing them via planning and exercising

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the fields of either Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Response, Datacenter Operations
  • 2+ years of Experience establishing policies, standards, and procedures

 Preferred qualification:

  • Experience with responding to Crisis events in large enterprise.

 Ideal candidate:

  • Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
  • Superior communications skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to influence without the authority.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

 

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
