THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced platform RAS engineer to work with customers as well as internal development teams on Server platform RAS solutions for AMD’s cutting-edge products. The position entails solid understanding of, debugging, and documenting platform RAS features with a goal of helping customers bring competitive designs to market. A successful candidate must possess technical proficiency and interpersonal confidence to clearly represent design ideas, complex problem descriptions and innovative solutions with other developers as well as non-firmware focused silicon teams.

Key responsibilities:

• RAS Engineer supporting customers developing Server platforms with AMD EPYC server products.
• Understand AMD RAS server architecture and FW flows; understand DDR and PCIe error injection, error detection, and error recovery flows
• Provide technical training to customers
• Identify gaps between customer requirements and AMD’s architecture, work with internal architecture, development, and validation teams to assess feasibility, develop responses, and deliver solutions to customers with clear timelines.
• Address BIOS and/or platform Q&A related to RAS, debug incoming issues, and drive resolution of issues to closure, while providing regular and detailed status updates to customers
• Assess power and performance impacts of RAS features

Preferred experience:

• Silicon or BIOS development experience with strong knowledge in RAS, PC/Server architecture, x86 processors, chipsets, MCA, DDR, PCIe, ACPI, etc
• Knowledge in UEFI programming and experience is a plus

Academic credentials:

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
