Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. CHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions.

To achieve this goal, the Cloud Hardware Manufacturing Engineering (CHME) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

 

We are looking for a Sr. Factory Operation Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of operation at the supplier/factory by chairing regular Operation review meeting
  • Responsible to perform CTF audits and drive continuous improvement
  • Responsible for contracts compliance management with suppliers (perform to SOW)
  • Assurance of Factory performance for Mass products, quality, safety and delivery.
    Monitoring  Manufacturing Processes & Tools Implementation in support of Operational Excellence
  • Responsible to ensure factory complies to Change Control Process 

 

Others:

  • Support NPI team during NPI activities
  • Managing MS system & tool & consigned parts (HW or components)

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have significant experience and/or expertise in many of the following areas:

  • 8+ years in manufacturing or quality engineering position with organization focused on manufacturing in the electronics industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing operations or engineering discipline
  • Ability to interact with Sr. management teams (internal and external)
  • Experience in performing quality audits in the supply chain
  • Experience working with engineers and product development professionals
  • Strong knowledge in supply chain QA methodology and tools
  • Demonstrates in depth knowledge and expertise in all areas of quality and reliability. Familiar with quality tools / process control such as DFx, DoE, FMEA, SPC, Cpk, and measurement systems analysis, Six Sigma
  • Excellent problem solving, risk analysis and mitigation and influencing skills
  • Broad understanding of the hardware manufacturing industry, business and legal intricacies
  • Experience and knowledge in factory operations (end to end)
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to participate in the closure of complex manufacturing problems
  • Program/project Management

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong engineering background/experience in any of below industrials is a plus: system integration, PCBA , cable/connector (interconnect), heatsink/fan (thermal), mechanical, PSU
  • Master’s Degree in engineering is a plus
