Robert Half is currently looking for an efficient Senior Accountant with an eye for accuracy to be a part of a terrific long-term contract / temporary opportunity in the Security industry. Working as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role

• Assist in the preparation and review functions of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
• Review account reconciliations and analysis, and journal entry approval
• Liaise with internal, external auditors as required
• Administer performance of certain controls over the financial reporting processes and assist in the design, review and evaluation of internal controls; Sarbanes compliance testing and reporting
• Analyze and investigate variances for various balance sheet accounts
• Work with external service provider on daily basis to complete many general accounting tasks
• Assist in any regulatory filings or ad hoc internal reporting and projects as required
• Responsible of fixed assets (budget control in CIP, capitalization and account reconciliation).
• Availability to work evenings/ weekends at month end; extended effort evenings for 1 week at quarter ends, plus weekend support
• Travel to Canadian branches might be required

Requirements

• University Degree /Accounting Designation
• Minimum 5 experience in senior accounting role within a large corporate environment (ERP system is a must), JDE experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Canadian sales tax, accounts receivable, accounts payables, fixed assets, inventory and general accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel required
• Must have: Creative attitude, thinking “outside of box” mindset.
• Self-starter, high ability to do the job, and achieve performance
• Experience and capability to perform work in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
