Description

Our client in the public practice area in the North GTA is seeking a Senior Accountant for their team. The organization has about 6 partners and 12 staff in total.

Responsibilities:

- Will be responsible for preparing financial statements as well as corporate tax returns and detailed analyses of accounting records and will work directly with Partners to ensure that all planned procedures have been completed.

- The role will require audit work engagements as well as Reviews and Notice to Readers.

- Working closely with its clients to help them build better and more valuable businesses.

Requirements

- Have 4-5 years of experience preferably in a mid-sized Canadian CA firm.

- Have experience in NTRs, audit and review engagements as well as preparing corporate and personal taxes for private companies in a variety of industries.

- Want a role with an emphasis on servicing high net worth owner-managed clients and applying complex tax rules to minimize taxes.

- Have a thorough knowledge of principles, methods and standards of public accounting.

- Have a self-starter attitude with well developed time management skills and the commitment to meeting deadlines

- Have proven problem solving capabilities including ingenuity, analytical skills and creativity

- Possess exceptional technical skills and a fine attention to detail

- Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to organize, prepare and clearly present information to our clients and team

- Have working knowledge and experience in a variety of software applications including Caseware, Caseview, TaxPrep, Excel, Word, QuickBooks and Simply Accounting.
