The Role:
- We are looking for Digital design and Verification intern with a background in Computer Architecture, excellent coding skills in Verilog, System Verilog, C, C++ and very good knowledge of processor pipeline and memory hierarchy. In this role, you will join our GPU design and verification team and gain valuable, hands-on experience in all aspects of Shader (SIMD) processor design and verification.
The Person:
- The ideal candidate enjoys working in a team environment and has a good understanding of digital/RTL design and debug techniques. The position requires attention to detail, a willingness and ability to learn quickly, and excellent team communication skills. Candidate must have strong problem analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with senior engineers to implement Digital Verilog RTL (register transfer logic) designs using Verilog programming and various digital design tools.
- Develop System Verilog based verification models and tests to validate these designs.
- Work with the team to debug and resolve complex design and verification problems as part of the overall development.
- Participate in timing constraint, synthesis, and design audit work.
- Participate with team members in the development of functional specifications, test plans, and work to debug simulation test failures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Course work or experience working on Shaders in GPU subsystems or SIMD processors.
- Hands-on work in C++ programming for either hardware modeling or testbench development or projects of similar scope and complexity.
- Experience using industry standard logic simulation tools like Questa, VCS or NCSIM.
- Experience with industry standard verification testbench and IP methodology such as UVM or similar.
- Knowledge and/or experience of Hardware Verification methodology and techniques such as simulation, debug, coverage, formal, etc.
- Assembly language programming and Instruction Set Architecture of a current microprocessor.
- Proficiency in scripting using Unix shell, Perl or Python and experience in object oriented programming using any high level language.
Academic Credentials:
- Currently in your senior year as an undergraduate pursuing a BS or pursuing a Master's in Computer Architecture and/or Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Processor architecture, digital arithmetic, RTL design, verification.
