THE ROLE:

The Co-op/Intern is responsible for all aspects of verification on next generation processors, including testbenches, BIOS, Firmware, and all non-AMD components contained within a PC living on the bleeding edge of new technology. This Co-op/Intern will also be living on the forefront of the PC industry and assisting us to bring new technology to AMD platforms.

THE PERSON:

We are seeking an analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate: enjoys ambitious work in a multi-project team environment using state-of-the-art tools and technology, is a self-starter who is able to work independently to complete tasks on schedule and demonstrates creativity with "out-of-the-box" solutions and high initiative to solve unassigned but project impacting issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Co-ordinate and sample AMD next generation sample systems to our 3rd party partners

· Testing AMD systems prior to shipment to 3rd party partners

· Co-ordinate and/or perform necessary reworks on AMD systems for sampling to 3rd party partners

· Resolve issues reported with AMD sampled systems by 3rd party partners – working both internally and externally to maintain the partner systems

· Communicate with partners on software updates for sampled AMD hardware – maintain a download site for partners to directly access updated drivers and other software components

· Work with Architects and reads documentation to understand features to be implemented and verified

· Additional responsibilities may include implementing script/tool for Triage Automation if needed

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

· General debug skills for PC’s – ability to resolve a wide variety of issues (Software / Hardware / etc)

· Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Windows

· Must be a team player with outstanding communication skills

· Must be proficient with typical office productivity applications; word / excel / power point / outlook

· Strong understanding of digital electronics and ASIC design flow (plus)

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

· BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related
