To further accelerate our advances battery technology, we are looking for a Mechanical Designer High Voltage Batteries Specialist.

WHAT AWAITS YOU?
•    As a Specialist for High Voltage Battery Development your primary responsibility will be to develop battery components regarding mechanical and functional design aspects.
•    Part of your remit will include detailed component design of subcomponents such as integration of cells, cell frame structure, cooling components including drawings, material choice and tolerance definitions as well as high and low voltage harness and electronics. 
•    You will be responsible for performing simulation and requesting hardware validation activities as well as supporting result interpretation.
•    You will manage component suppliers whilst working with BMW CATIA and parts release systems. 
•    You will ensure the producibility of the components in collaboration with the suppliers, consider the battery production processes and deliver a design ready for B2P manufacture.

Qualifications

•   Proven knowledge and experience in mechanical automotive design of powertrain components, ideally in high voltage batteries is required.
•   A degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related field.
•   A proven ability to use mechanical design software tools (CATIA) with experience of CAE simulation tools, such as FEM and thermal simulation is required.
•   A sound knowledge of thermal analysis, heatsink and enclosure design.
•   Experience of documenting testing and validation is beneficial
