The Team
The Business Manager will report directly to the Managing Director of S&P and will work with the leadership team on business planning, goal setting and OKR adoption to define the strategic deliverables of S&P. The role will be part of TalkTalk’s Senior Leadership Team.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
1. BUSINESS UNIT STRATEGY
- Business area governance and cadence for improved decision making, determining the agenda, content and facilitation of monthly leadership team strategy sessions.
- Provide BU goals into Business Planning and be the PoC for BU needs during the process
- Oversee market research to validate 3Y plan assumptions
- Craft the content for the FY and the 3Y Supply and Partnerships strategy papers for the leadership team: build from a financial view with functional strategy/KPIs
- Lead on a variety of strategic initiatives
- Organising and gather information from various departments and meetings, making recommendations for resolution to the MD.
- Work closely with the Group Director of Strategic Delivery to ensure all business planning activity takes into account Group needs and communicated across the Supply & Partnerships leadership team.
- Input into OnePlan update and attend OnePlan cross-BU governance
- Lead on external market insight and knowledge. Focusing (not limited to) market changes such consolidation through PE’s in Telecoms, competitive landscape, our partner strategies to ensure S&P maximises its value in the industry to gain and retain market/profit share.
2. STRATEGIC DELIVERABLES
- Implement process to monitor 3Y plan assumptions (within OnePlan and beyond)
- Design & implement a governance framework to improve decision-making environment in Supply & Partnerships
2. STRATEGIC GOAL MANAGEMENT
- Oversee creation of annual and quarterly OKRs
- Implement and embed OKRs across Supply & Partnerships including leading all RETROs and Crafting sessions.
- Lead on implementation of optimal OKR governance and cadence, ensuring progress is tracked on KOAN system
- Regular updates to Supply & Partnerships on progress against OKR’s ensuring any “at risk†OKR deliverables are identified with ‘back to green’ action planning.
- Serve as a culture champion keeping employees aligned and involved in the OKR process and provide essential assistance to leaders on team engagement
3. BUSINESS UNIT NARRATIVE
- Provide Supply & Partnerships OnePlan KPIs commentary
- Provide guidance and a Supply & Partnerships perspective to both internal and external comms.
- Provide relevant briefings and talking points to MD Supply & Partnerships for key strategic events.
4. SENIOR UPDATES
- Undertake monthly reviews of the Supply & Partnerships strategy making recommendations, frameworks or plans based on internal resources and external market insights to then prepare the MD for upcoming meetings with various stakeholders such as Board members, EXCO members, employees, and investors by coordinating and creating necessary information and materials
- Craft content for the monthly CEO report, monthly Trading Board, quarterly Advisory Sub-Committee and ad hoc Board presentations/papers. Recommend and share agenda for monthly Trading Board, quarterly Advisory Sub-Committee

- Exceptional stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Commercially astute with a clear understanding of the levers we need to pull in Supply & Partnerships
- Strong facilitation skills at a senior stakeholder level, encouraging challenge and debate.
- Experience of successfully using the OKR methodology.
- Proven successful board pack preparation experience.
- A relentless eye for detail.
- Proven organisational skills in complex scenarios.
- A curious mindset and the desire to always keep up with the latest industry trends.
- Ability to be discreet when handling confidential information.
- A hunger to drive the very highest levels of performance.
