THE ROLE:

AMD is searching for hardworking and highly motivated specialists to join our team of scientists and engineers in the development and optimization of integrated AMD CPU+GPU solutions for high performance computing and machine learning.

 

We are seeking a Software Stack Integration Engineer. The primary responsibilities are to work on the integration and support of 3rd party software into AMD’s integrated CPU+GPU solutions, container development, and build environment adaptation to support AMD’s CPU and GPU software stacks. You will part of a team of professionals porting and optimizing software for High Performance Computing (HPC), distributed computing and Machine Learning (ML) workloads

 

THE PERSON:

A computer scientist or engineer with proven experience in integrating existing software.  Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well within a team environment.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integration and support of 3rd party and open source software into AMD’s integrated CPU/GPU solutions
  • Define, install and run software/firmware stacks on AMD development systems
  • Interact with internal tool developers, 3rd party tool providers, and end customers
  • Container development for testing and end deployment
  • Adapt build environments for AMD software stacks
  • Data capture and presentation in the form of dashboards and reports
  • Integrate performance testing as part of the CI test apparatus

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in integration projects for HPC and Machine Learning environments
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • Expertise with autotools, make, cmake, containers (Docker, Singularity)
  • Strong team software development skills including demonstrated expertise with git, Jenkins, Jira, and similar tools
  • In-depth knowledge of software development practices including debug, test, revision control, documentation, and bug tracking
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud computing
  • Linux administration, scripting expertise, cluster tools
  • Outstanding interpersonal and ability to communicate
  • Ability to work well and effectively in a team environment, including with geographically dispersed teams
