Software Researcher

The Role:

AMD Research is the advanced research and development organization for AMD. We are seeking a seasoned System Software Developer and Researcher to become a member of our team.

Do you pay great attention to detail and can you effectively communicate to cross functional teams and executive management, handle multiple projects and priorities, and dynamically adjust to the requirements of the day? Do you have very strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)? Are you effective with data management and analytics, and are you able to work well at all levels of an organization, from frontline employees to senior executives? If so, then join us!

Key Responsibilities:

• Performance analysis and software optimization
• Build and deploy software for the most advanced HPC, data science, and machine learning platforms in the world
• Driving innovation in production software environments
• Combine advanced software engineering skills with a drive to explore novel approaches to solve important problems in heterogeneous computing at the large scales

Preferred Experience:

• Experience performing successful software research and software development
• Extensive C++ experience, preferably in production environments
• Extensive experience with parallel programming models and runtime systems
• Facility with at least one other major language or framework (e.g. Python, FORTRAN, TensorFlow)
• Passion to push the limits of software on ground breaking platforms

Also, demonstrated evidence of two or more of the following skills is a big plus:

• System performance analysis
• HPC software development
• GPU programming
• FPGA programming
• Applied machine learning

Academic Credentials:

• PhD degree with 3+ years of work (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field is preferred
