Job Description

Responsibilities

As the leader of the SBC team, you will be responsible for the whole team’s health, it’s growth, and it’s output – the SBC and it’s evolution.  As the engineering lead, you’ll be principally responsible for its technology and its delivery – but you’ll need to work hand-in-hand with peer functions to build a shared vision, a shared view, and a singular strategy.

  • You will partner within peer disciplines to define the strategy and outcomes for the SBC as a whole.
  • You’ll contextualise the strategy and timeframes for your team to help everyone sign up to ambitious goals.
  • You’ll create energy and momentum through strong, clear communication and by providing clarity to stakeholders, to peers, to team members.
  • You’ll build and evolve your organisation so that it is ready to meet changing goals, attracting a range of diverse and high-performing talent, and maximising the careers and capabilities of everyone in your team.
  • You’ll contribute materially to the success of your team. Your impact will be tangible and not just the sum of what your team delivers: your direct contributions will enable the success of your team.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Passion for high scale, reliable distributed systems engineering
  • Experience creating, developing, delivering large scale, complex software to a very high quality – telco carrier-grade reliability and quality.
