Join a talented team of Agile Developers who will be responsible for software/application development and to develop automation framework for testing and deployment. What you’ll do:

• Provide high availability, resilient and low latency microservices and to build distributed, fault tolerant systems for Sky’s Broadband, Voice and Mobile customer across the European regions Sky operates.
• Automation and programmability are core with the ability to design solutions and engage in proof of concepts.
• Develop software to automatically test applications and services and to write and maintain documentation for all applications and services.
• Take industry-standard open-source technologies or from vendor, install and configure them and develop APIs for other applications to access them as a service.
• Provide 3rd / 4th line support to the Operations department for systems which have been deployed.
• Gather requirements (non-functional and functional technical tasks) based on high-level architecture and designs. Agree acceptance criteria with stakeholders for each task identified.

What you’ll bring:

• Working knowledge and proficient coding in one of the following languages – Perl, Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, Go and ability to pick up another language as required and to perform software development with minimal assistance.
• Strong familiarity and working knowledge of Shell scripts, Linux operating system with SQL and No-SQL databases.
• Experience with dealing with RESTful API’s and experience working with Git /performing code reviews.
• Strong understanding of networks, clustering and load balancing technologies.
• Good understanding of TCP and UDP.
• Detail focused, i.e., experience of reviewing technical documentation, diagrams and plans to meet and/or define requirements and to manage the documentation in a clear and precise manner for implementation, testing and operational teams.
