The Web Experiences Team (WebXT) spans the Microsoft ecosystem of web experiences, aligned on our principal goal to make the web a better place for everyone on the planet. WebXT is a suite of products and services that includes Bing, Microsoft News, our Advertising Platform, the new Edge browser, and Maps. WebXT Live Site Engineer team is dedicated to delivering world-class service quality and performance for Bing and Microsoft News. These high-scale services handle billions of requests across hundreds of thousands of servers worldwide. As live site engineer, your role will be collaborating with various teams to manage service availability and performance, driving improvements, with full stack engineering knowledge to create novel tools/services to manage such high-scale services to satisfy our customers. 

Responsibilities

You will be on the team driving service improvement across WebXT, working with experienced service reliability engineers, and influencing team on solving problems with power of design and coding. You will represent the WebXT customer as you work with service owners to harden their services. You will be responsible for analyzing incident and alert data to provide insights about where to invest in service improvements. You will build and leverage an array of tools and drive the service improvement bar higher. You will work with other engineering teams to drive best practices into service architectures and LiveSite processes. Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of software development experience with proficiency in full stacking
• 1-5+ years of engineering experience in DevOps, SRE, live site area
• Great problem solving and analytical skills with high intellectual horsepower
• Self-motivated, exceptional attention to detail
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent industry experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years’ experience with web and cloud related development
• Excellent communicator, capable of building and maintaining relationships with various Microsoft teams
• Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: data mining, machine learning, statistics, service engineering, DevOps practice, service capacity management, service architecture, ITIL, ACP
