Azure Big data teams (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, HDInsight, Azure Stream Analytics and Cosmos) present interesting challenges in technologies such as big-data, cloud, storage and open-source. We build reliable, highly scalable and highly performing distributed systems for data analytics on Azure. We work with various open-source technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Yarn, etc., and make contributions to these technologies. We are creating a planetary scale storage system, which can scale to Exabyte of data (yes, that’s 18+ digits!). We are building next generation globally distributed, elastic scale, multi-model cloud database services. It is designed to enable developers to build planet-scale applications.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer doing development tasks mostly of back end systems, with front end work being limited to management interfaces.
  
• Design and develop distributed systems. Coding is critical to this position.
• Deploy systems to production. Production health is a direct responsibility of this position, including oncall duties.
• Define and monitor metrics to track both production health and feature adoption.
• Work with customers to resolve their issues and gather requirements for new features.
• Work with Microsoft stakeholders in and out of the immediate team to make sure our code is compliant and secure, as much as it solved the customer problems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or IT related technical discipline or 3+ years of industry software engineering experience
• 4+ years of programming experience in Java or C++ or C# or C and object-oriented programming

• Passion and experience for Engineering systems
• Experience with OSS components
• Experience with leveraging ML and AI for Analytics
• Experience working with Azure service fabric
• Experience working on flighting services / toolset
